Walking down the street on a gloomy, rainy Monday morning as people scuttle to where they need to be, keeping their heads down and avoiding eye contact. No smiles, no ‘have a good day’ not many ‘thank you’ or ‘good mornings’ just horns beeping, people tutting and the start of the working week is not a very happy one.
But… There is more to life than getting a degree, pursuing your career, making money to pay the rent. The basic requirement for everyone is their happiness. If you find yourself in a day-to-day situation that makes you miserable, change it.
If you place yourself in a situation in order to meet a certain ends, be positive about your journey towards it. If you can’t do that, it’s not for you and it’s time to change it.
I have noticed on that disliking Monday, which is associated with being at work, seems to be of the ‘norm’. Then I saw this photo and it really hit the nail on the head.
“Monday’s aren’t so bad, it’s your job that sucks”.
Why would you honestly want to live a life when you quite literally feel dread due to something in your life, that doesn’t need to be there?
Sure it was in your plan to go to that university and study this one specific course. Sure you need to put food on the table and keep the roof over your head. But also you deserve happiness, in fact it’s your birthright, and if that thing is no longer making you happy – ask yourself what you can do to become happier again.
Plans change. People change. Attitudes change. You got one job, you are qualified for another. I’m not saying drop everything and walk away. I’m saying find a solution, change your surroundings, do what needs to be done to ensure you’re happy and in the right frame of mind.
Don’t stick with anything that makes you unhappy because it’s ‘simpler’.
Remember, happiness is your birth right. It should never be compromised.
