Life is full of surprises but the biggest surprise you will find is your reaction to it.
Life is all about attitude; you can’t always choose the things that happen to you, you can’t always choose your reaction to these things but you can sit back and think about your response, your emotions and how they are perceived and affecting the world around you.
Sometimes you just have to suck it up and do things that you do not really want to in order to get to where you want to be.
Your mood may not be all that easy to control; this really changes person to person. When one person is feeling high stress they may know what to do in order to calm down and enjoy life again. Whereas another person may get too stuck in their feelings, thoughts and emotions that they combust and explode emotions left, right and centre.
It is easier to let your emotions get the better of you. It is easier to dwell. Because that means you are not taking responsibility, you are waiting for the world to fix your problems, but this is not how the cookie crumbles. Only you control your life.
You have to take responsibility for your life.
You have to understand that you get what you give out.
If you’re snappy, short and impatient – people won’t want to be around you.
If you’re sensitive, smart and proactive – people will want to be around you.
If you’re hateful, agitated and easily annoyed – things that make you feel this way will continue to happen.
If you just take responsibility, understand that what is an issue now won’t be an issue in a month or two – good things will come your way.
I remember reading in one of my favorite books by Haemin Sunim that, in short, if you want your partner to kiss you, you must kiss them first. Meaning to Treat people as you expect to be treated from this I believe that you should treat the world will kindness and it will be kind back.
Sometimes I can find myself being very much:
‘Woe is me, the world is crap, blah blah blah.’ Let’s be honest, hearing someone talk like that -it’s boring as hell. No one likes a winger. People like fighters. I’ve fought through some bad things and got out the other side, stronger. We can have our setbacks, we can have our bad days where we sulk and grump but it’s truly so important you do NOT let this become weeks – what’s the point in living if you’re not letting yourself be happy?
Sometimes things will happen that are sad. Sometimes things will happen that will piss you off but just laugh it off – literally just laugh it off. Laughter is the best medicine.
Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.
Don’t lose sight of who you should be based on a few bad things. This is no way to live your life.
Don’t throw a temper tantrum because things aren’t going your way.
Suck it up and learn from it.
