The most important relationship you can build, is that with yourself.
Do I spend my time holding myself back
Loving myself and encouraging myself
This is something I do as a result of my anxiety and depression, both of which cause extreme low self-esteem for me and create a busy and hectic mind preventing me from living a happy and fulfilling life.
Issues with your own self-esteem tend to be the main factor as to why people hold themselves back. We all too often feel a need to compete and compare ourselves to others, rather than just focusing on ourselves and loving that person.
Your attitude, the way you see yourself, the way you deal with difficult situations and the way you express your feelings all impact your life and whether you hold yourself back or push yourself forwards with love and compassion.
Creating issues in your mind, which really do not exist in the real world, can only cause them to exist if all you do is think and talk about them. This is you holding yourself back from being able to have the life you want, as you create the life you fear without truly realising that’s what you’re doing.
It is important that we are aware of our actions and how they appear to other people around us.
If you’re worried that your partner is not happy in your relationship, or there’s an issue with a close friend or close family member, this is due to your low self-esteem, constantly asking them if everything is ok is only going to create a problem.
What you should do is admit to yourself you feel this way, look at how the facts truly do not support it, understand that this is an issue with your self-esteem and not your relationship and then work with yourself to boost your self-esteem again.
Your self-esteem can be helped by relationships, but it cannot be built on them alone.
You need to do this with yourself.
You are going to live with one person for the rest of your life, so you might as well learn to love them and do what you can to ensure they are happy, and of course, that person is you.
Once you love yourself truly, everything good follows.
Be happy with who you are.
We are all human and we all have our insecurities and our weaknesses but some people learn to love them, you can too. It’s better to love yourself.
